Registering, paying and withdrawing

  • Registration runs through the eCBP portal and costs $390, paid when you register.
  • The window opens about 10 weeks before exam day and closes about 6 weeks before — for Wednesday, October 28, 2026, that was August 17, 2026 to September 16, 2026 at 4:30 PM Eastern.
  • Withdrawing by 8:30 AM Eastern, two days before the exam earns a refund, generally processed within 45 days of the exam. Missing the identification check or arriving after doors close forfeits the fee.

If you are sitting October 28, 2026

You have the papers CBP itself published to practise on, and the only thing worth measuring now is lookup speed under the clock. Start with a diagnostic: 80 questions is 4.5 hours, and finding your two weakest topics today is worth more than another pass through the regulations.
